Take some time out and visit Jefferson County; you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Located in the center of Alabama state, Birmingham is the county seat of Jefferson County. Much of the county has been urbanized and now houses as many as 1.1 million residents, which is approximately one quarter of Alabama’s entire population.

Jefferson County features a lovely humid subtropical climate, characterized by hot summers and mild winters. The zoo features over 700 different animal species as well as a new interactive section, specifically suited to children.

Recreational fishing is also one of Jefferson County’s favoured pastimes. Few regions can offer the quality and variety of fishing that Jefferson can offer.
